SAVE THE DATES - The 12th Annual RIP5K Goes Virtual This Year!

Thursday, October 1 to Sunday, October 4

THE RACE:

Organized by the Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries, the Rest in Peace 5K is the premier Halloween costumed Run in the region! While normally, the Race takes place on the grounds of historic Laurel Hill Cemetery, the 12th Annual RIP5K will be virtual. Participants can run between October 1 and October 4 and since this year the RIP5K is a virtual “fun run” it means that you can run anywhere your heart desires, keep track of your miles (3.1 miles) and times. Remember to dress in your best costume and share the pictures with us to be entered to win an awesome prize!

THE CAUSE:

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to preserve and promote the historical character of both Laurel Hill and West Laurel Hill Cemeteries, through educational programs and public outreach. If you needed an awesome reason to don a costume, get out of the house, and get your miles in, we just gave you one. You’re welcome.

THE COSTUME:

You’ll be running for two historic cemeteries, in October, so now isn’t the time to get shy about your costume creativity

Show us how creative you are by sharing pictures of you dressed in your costumes while running, and you’ll be entered to win an awesome prize! Do you have a furry friend who would like to join you? We will have a prize for the best dressed pup who runs with you!

ABOUT THE REST IN PEACE 5K RUN

A Run for the dead, not from them.

Organized by the Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries, the Rest in Peace 5K is the premier Halloween costumed Run in the region! While normally, the Race and after-party takes place on the grounds of historic Laurel Hill Cemetery, the 12th Annual RIP5K will be virtual. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of historic Laurel Hill and West Laurel Hill Cemeteries. Participants are encouraged to run in Halloween attire - we will have a prize for the best individual costume! Now in its twelfth year, the run attracts hundreds of regional runners. In addition to being a good time, the Race is also a very community minded event, connecting runners, local businesses and organizations together through fellowship, fitness and fun!
