Take on the challenge of painting from the landscape at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The ever-changing subject can bring a beneficial approach to your own painting with rapid thinking and swift mark-making, meanwhile developing your intuitive thinking. Studying landscape masterpieces from masters like Camille Corot, John Constable, and Eugene Isabey, you will be able to extract ways to prepare surfaces for painting landscape as well as to study mark making which flesh out foliage, trees, mountains, atmosphere, and clouds. Laced with the study of masterworks, the class will make excursions to paint the nearby landscape in this two-day Landscape Painting Workshop hosted by Penn Studio School of Art.
This weekend workshop will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 & 13, 2021 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, on the grounds of Laurel Hill Cemetery at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132. Free parking is located in the lot across the street from the Gatehouse.
