A Members-Only Virtual Program on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 6:30 pm
REGISTRATION FOR THIS PROGRAM IS NOW CLOSED
Join us for a one-hour virtual presentation about one of the oldest continually active African American-owned cemeteries in the United States. Since its beginning, Eden Cemetery has been a steward of the history and culture of a people, of communities made invisible, and of Philadelphia’s earliest African American burial grounds and cemeteries. With over 90,000 residents, it is the final resting place of many distinguished residents. Monuments throughout the cemetery eternally memorialize the lives of many thousands, who are an important part of history, and the communities that they represent. A guest volunteer tour guide from Eden Cemetery will be leading the discussion.
This program is open to any active member of The Friends of Laurel Hill & West Laurel Hill Cemeteries and will take place on Zoom on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 6:30 pm. The zoom link will be provided before the day of the program.
