Thursday, October 4 at 7pm
Laurel Hill Cemetery, a National Historic Landmark founded in 1836, is welcoming members of the public to preview our newly designed future lighting plan. Created by The Lighting Practice, the plan provides Laurel Hill with a lighting design meant to highlight the architectural and artistic features of the cemetery. A small-scale version of the project will be on display as part of the annual DesignPhiladelphia festival, and will be visible to the public from Kelly Drive from October 4th to October 12th.
A kickoff cocktail party will be held on October 4th beginning at 7pm. Guests can enjoy refreshments in our beautiful Medallion Garden, before being invited on a special twilight tour to view the new lighting, some of our most noteworthy Victorian monuments, and the final resting places of our famous “permanent residents.”
Upon arrival for the opening reception, enter via Laurel Hill Cemetery’s Gatehouse entrance at 3822 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132. Free parking is located in the lot across the street from the Gatehouse and within the cemetery. The cost is $25/person; $23/students and seniors or $22/members. Tickets are limited and advanced registration is suggested. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
